Scimon Tist
Like so many musicians who came before him, Scimon Tist's love for
music began at an early age when at 14, he got his first groovebox and began experimenting with music.

Over the years, his love for music and skills in production grew. At 16 he had experimented with many styles of electronic dance music. A school-mate soon introduced him to hip-hop music, which he grew to love and at 17 he was an active member of the hip-hop community in Ireland.

He gained a reputation within the hip-hop scene as a talented beatmaker and his production skills were utilised by some of the top artists in the genre. He honed his skills and developed his craft until he was finally rewarded for his hard work in 2005 by being selected as the sole participant to represent Ireland at the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle, USA.
At RBMA he met many of his personal heroes including Hank Shocklee (Public Enemy) & Biz Markie. It was here he learned to be open-minded about all types of music.

In January 2007 he decided to make a return to his first love - Electronic Dance Music and few months later he teamed up with Irish DJ, John Gibbons, to produce the club smash & chart hit single "Beautiful Filth".
"Beautiful Filth" was heavily supported by Judge Jules on his BBC Radio 1 show and the track was soon licensed to the massive Gatecrasher Immortal (Ministry of Sound) compilation before being snapped up by Ali Wilson's Tekelec Recordings.

Over the past three years, John Gibbons & Scimon Tist have gained a massive fan-base and support from A-List DJ's has been swelling track by track. The general philosophy behind the duo's productions is not to allow genre to dictate what you can and can't do, "If it sounds good, its cool...I dont care wheteher it is techno/trance/house whatever....if it sounds good to me lets do it, too many people play it safe..." said Tist in a recent interview.

In February 2010 a new chapter in the Scimon Tist story began when he started DJ'ing. Already the young Irishman had made his debut for Planet Love and a date is soon to be confirmed for his Letrik debut.
